Howard's Donuts

Message: 1/11/23 - Major update announcement. Most of us are aware that the hot chocolate offered in donut shops is made in a machine and tastes, well, awful. Howard's Donuts, the little hole in the wall donut shop in Rancho Cordova, just announced that they have changed the way they prepare their hot chocolate. Howard's is introducing a new hot chocolate recipe featuring Ghirardelli chocolate. I had my first great cup of hot chocolateIf early this morning at Howards. My cup of Howatd's hot chocolate was the creamiest, most chocolatey and delicious cup of hot chocolate I've ever tried. Each sip was amazing. You'll literally savor each sip. Not everyone at Howard's Donuts has been trained on using the new formula. Ask the counter person if they've been trained on preparing the new Howard's Hot Chocolate. If they say no, ask them who has. For many of us, chocolate is our one guilty pleasure. The new Howard's Donuts hot chocolate is so good, you'll bring a date with you the next time you visit. Howard's Hot chocolate made with Ghirardelli chocolate is the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted.

Message: Excellent selection of fabulous donuts. Sweet family runs the place. Super clean. Tasty and fresh! Got there at 7:30 am on a Sunday morning. Still had TONS of donuts at that time.

Message: This little donut shop is awesome. After moving back here from Washington we had to find a good donut shop. There are no Legendary Donuts here so the quest was on. Howard's is by far yummy in my tummy. Personally, I love the huge apple fritters. My husband enjoys the multiple jelly fills (raspberry, cherry, blueberry and lemon) but his favorite filled donut is the bear claw filled with apple filling. You can get them glazed or crumb coated. The variety here is awesome. They do alot of the old school techniques dipping in coconut, peanuts, crumb coating, etc. There are some non traditional items here as well and the croissants are huge. I'll take more pictures later depending on the crowds. They are covid prepared. Very friendly staff and the coffee is great too. Get here early or call to set something aside. We will definitely be back.

Message: Came here on a Sunday morning around 10am and was pleasantly surprised at both the stock of selections as well as the price. But the real clincher was the taste once I got home. These donuts weren't any day old leftovers you'd get at most shops, these were melting in your mouth, fluffy, sugary, dreamy donuts.. 10/10 what a gem.

Message: I gave Howard's Donuts four stars. The staff was friendly when greeting customers, the donuts were fresh, and they were open on Christmas day. I had a chocolate covered old fashioned. Next time I'll try a few donut holes.
